Enhanced Capital is Seeking a Small Business Lending Associate / Senior Associate in St. Louis, MO, or Cincinnati, OH

We are seeking a highly motivated Small Business Lending (SBL) associate or senior associate to join our team of investment professionals in St. Louis, MO, or Cincinnati, OH.

Position Summary:

As an SBL Associate, you will support the Enhanced SBL team by performing deal sourcing, financial analysis, due diligence, and engaging in a wide variety of business development initiatives.  You will also be responsible for producing reports, presentations, and financial models and presenting those findings to stakeholders. 

Qualified applicants must be able to execute fundamental strategic analysis, apply sound business judgement, interact as peers with senior management and portfolio companies, and manage complex projects.  The ideal candidate will have investment transaction experience, credit training, and possess the ability to evaluate, analyze, and synthesize investment opportunities. Applicants must also demonstrate a high degree of intellectual curiosity to quickly understand and assess businesses in a wide variety of industries. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build fund-level financial projection models, investment return models and conduct sensitivity analysis on model outputs
  • Draft and present internal investment memos, screening memos, financial models, and investor reports
  • Assist in deal execution, including due diligence, legal documentation and negotiation
  • Manage communication and reporting to senior leadership within the executive, finance, and investor relations teams
  • Monitor portfolio company performance, including creating and tracking company financial performance
  • Compile quarterly compliance packages and valuations
  • Prepare analyses and marketing presentations for fundraising efforts and investor relations
  • Conduct outreach for deal sourcing

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 2-5 years of relevant experience, including commercial banking, middle market investment banking, leveraged finance, private equity, or related fields
  • Excellent organization, communication, and research skills with the ability to succinctly express and present ideas
  • A basic understanding of investment legal structures and documentation
  • Strategic and analytical thinking with an emphasis on risk assessment
  • Motivation and ability to clearly communicate and present to both internal and external audiences
  • Strong quantitative skills, including financial modeling, financial statement analysis, as well as critical thinking and problem solving
  • Ability to analyze problems quickly, develop solutions and proposals, and clearly communicate recommended strategies
  • Strong ability to manage priorities and take ownership of projects is essential
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues of all levels
  • Conscientious with a strong work ethic and the ability to work long hours as needed
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be available for travel to portfolio company locations throughout the United States
