Under a recently enacted Ohio small business investing program, Enhanced Capital has closed a $25 million state-approved capital formation fund to provide financing to small businesses in the rural counties of Ohio. The goals of the Ohio Rural Business Growth Program include attracting capital investment, retaining existing jobs, creating new jobs within existing businesses and attracting new business and industry to rural counties of Ohio.
The program is designed to generate at least $75 million of investment activity within rural Ohio over the next two years. Enhanced Capital will invest $25 million in rural, small businesses, which are generally defined as businesses in certain industries with fewer than 250 employees and located in counties with populations of less than 200,000 people. By providing financing through its Ohio Rural Business Growth Fund, Enhanced Capital will deploy flexible capital to the small businesses that are seeking expansion, job creation and investment in underserved rural communities throughout the State of Ohio.
