Three redevelopment projects financed by Enhanced Capital are making waves in the architecture world as some of the country’s “most brilliant factory revivifications.”

Featured in the recent Architectural Digest article “Architects Find New Inspiration in Abandoned American Factories,” historic rehabilitation efforts are reinventing decaying urban and industrial landscapes as they bring luxury hotels, retail spaces and galleries into operation. Enhanced Capital is proud to have invested in three of the eight projects that made the list.

1. The West Elm Hotel in Indiana is slated to open in 2020, transforming the former iconic Art Deco Coca-Cola bottling factory. In addition to the hotel, the project will include the city’s first food hall and private space for entertaining. Thanks to financing from Enhanced Capital, the West Elm Hotel renovation will preserve the Art Deco façade and industrial integrity of the building while reinvigorating downtown Indianapolis.
2. Meanwhile, New Orleans is celebrating the opening of the Eliza Jane Hotel. Previously seven historic warehouse spaces, the upscale hotel was creatively renovated to include the original exposed brick walls from the buildings. The renovation was completed in 2018 and still reflects features from the 1850s warehouses.
3. Enhanced Capital has provided financing to support the renovation of one of America’s first power plants along the Savannah River in Georgia. The 225,000-square-foot building will be transformed into the Kessler Collection’s Plant Riverside District, including a Marriott hotel, retail spaces, dining options, bars, an art gallery and a live-music venue.
