Enhanced Capital, a national impact investment company, announced an investment in a portfolio of community solar projects in New Jersey. Through its multi-year partnership with Solar Landscape, Enhanced Capital provided both sponsor equity and tax equity to finance projects located in North Bergen, Edison, Woodbridge, and Camden, NJ, with an estimated capacity of 9.5 MWdc.
Founded in 2012, Solar Landscape is recognized by Solar Power World as one of New Jersey’s top-ranked commercial solar developers and contractors. The Company specializes in commercial and industrial solar installation, primarily in New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut. To date, Solar Landscape has developed more than 110 projects totaling over 115 MW and has installed about 20 percent of New Jersey’s rooftop commercial and industrial projects.
“Enhanced Capital is proud to play a role in a renewable energy portfolio that benefits the local community,” said Ed Rossier, Managing Director and Head of Renewable Energy at Enhanced Capital. “Community solar projects reduce homeowners’ electricity costs, reduce carbon emissions and generate revenue for commercial real estate owners.”
Solar Landscape’s renewable energy portfolio will generate revenue through community energy sales and New Jersey Transition Renewable Energy Certificates (TRECs). In the first year of operation, the portfolio expects to produce 9,479 kWh.1
The portfolio contains four solar photovoltaic (PV) roof‐mount projects, one of which in Camden includes carport PV systems. Both the North Bergen and Camden projects are located in designated Qualified Opportunity Zones. The portfolio is expected to be completed by December 2021.
