Enhanced Capital is excited to announce the Bloomhaven Innovative Living Community received a 2023 Landmarks Illinois Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Preservation Award for Adaptive Reuse. This annual award program honors exceptional preservation efforts across Illinois and is celebrating its 30th Anniversary this year.
In addition to receiving recognition for its adaptive reuse efforts, Bloomhaven has also been honored with the Legacy Award for demonstrating the significant impact of preservation. In this regard, it follows the beliefs of Richard H. Driehaus, who supported the idea that restoring historical sites generates positive change and can encourage others to do the same.
Enhanced Capital participated in the redevelopment of the 135-year-old formerly abandoned Copley Hospital campus by providing financing through Illinois’ PACE program for energy efficiency measures in December 2020. Enhanced Capital also provided financing through state Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credits and a bridge loan secured by state and federal Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credits.
Fox Valley Developers redeveloped the campus into a multi-use complex with assisted and independent living for seniors and adults in need of memory care and/or special needs.
All 2023 award recipients will be honored at a public ceremony at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023, at the Athenaeum Center for Thought & Culture in Chicago, IL.
